Celebrating Nine Years

The efforts of concerned, organized ANA members created a safe environment for families to thrive in during the 1970s.

Now, approaching its 10th Anniversary, the ANA continues to provide important information to its members on crime prevention and safety.

It also honors its enormous membership with birthday, anniversary, and memorial messages—along with providing a bit of blue humor in its “Komedy Korner” (p 13)!

February 1974

Our very first ANA Newsletter!

Over the ten months since the ANA’s inception in May 1973 through this newsletter publication, the organization grew from 35 concerned citizens to a whopping 500!

Community action was essential during the crime-ridden 1970s.

Long before cell phones and the internet, our community members worked tirelessly with law enforcement to keep citizens informed, guarding the streets at night with CB radio-enabled block walks and car patrols, immediately informing police of any suspicious activity.
